There are many cycling events throughout the year, these mostly consist of Cyclosportive events. These are basically group rides taking in famous routes or climbs, the pace is set by the front runners but you can take it as easy as you want.
The events are always well organised with many of the roads traffic free, many go past our door and they are well worth a try, just to have the French cycling experience with roads well marshalled by the Gendarmerie and epic finishes on mountain top ski stations.
